My practice has taught me how to withstand and greet adversity, soften in moments of strife, appreciate the rupture, and accept who I am right now through experience.

I do yoga so I can sit for long periods with my greatest love: writing.

Through this practice, I’ve learned to create from a source that is playful, abundant, and compassionate.

In this week-long intensive I studied advanced Vinyasa sequencing with Clara Roberts-Oss to delve into the intricacies of building toward a peak pose in a yoga class for intermediate and progressing students.

This certification focused on Shiva Rae’s wave theory and working with hands-on assists for teachers to develop a more cohesive and intimate understanding of how to lead students into each pose through the use of touch.

Jivamukti Training | 2018

A five-day immersion with Sharon Gannon and David Life where I studied the Yoga Sutras of Pattabhi Jois, developed my understanding and application of yoga assists, and the importance of sound via music, mantra, chanting, and breath.

In this immersion we studied the five tenets of Jivamukti Yoga that set the foundation for the practice:
Bhakti (devotion), Nada (music, mantra), Shasta (Scripture), Asana (physical practice), and Ahimsa (non-harming).

Kula Training | 2019

A week-long intimate retreat where I studied Kula Flow style yoga with founder, Schuyler Grant, and yoga asana and adjustments with Nikki Vilella. A focus on creative sequencing that integrates the intelligence and alignment of Iyengar yoga with the dynamism of Ashtanga.

Kula is deeply rooted in developing an authentic teaching voice, the art of hands-on assists, and the ability to articulate and integrate the philosophical and physical teachings of the practice into a class.

Tibetan yoga
Dorje Training | 2019

Dorje Tibetan Yoga is a complex system designed to balance the body’s elements and combat disease by using knowledge of the meridians, acupressure points of traditional Chinese medicine, the Indian chakra system, and yogic breathwork.

Tantric Workshops
with Daniel Odier | 2022/23

Attended two sessions in May 2022 and October 2023 with Daniel Odier, ‘the workshop is mainly devoted to teaching the four basic practices: Tandava, the Yoga of the emotions, the visualizations of Matsyendranath, and the practices of Vijnanabhairava Tantra.’
